Sufism and Islam
Sufism has always tended to form a conservative barrier against ignorance and had the lead in the extension of education and upholding of ethics thus preserving its functional importance as a movement in the social structure of the Islamic and Sudanese society in particular
With the progressive westernisation of the Islamic world the gap between the spiritual and temporal realms is again widening, so it needed to fill this gap with the right filling that would preserve to the individual his religion, cultural heritage and self.
